What is HUBBUB?
Where innovation meets community celebration!
HUBBUB is a showcase of collaboration. It highlights projects born from the collective genius of our community, City of Ottawa staff, and the students and professors at the University of Ottawa, Carleton University and Algonquin College.
Projects respond to the City of Ottawa’s Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plan priorities. At the end of each academic year, we present HUBBUB, a project showcase and networking event.
From concepts to tangible solutions, HUBBUB showcases the collaborative spirit that defines our city. Each project highlights our dedication to a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable Ottawa.

Judging and awards
Every year, we assemble a panel of judges composed of three professors or institutional staff, one city staff representative and one community partner.

Our judges evaluate each project. They critically engage with the content, assessing its merits based on rigorous criteria.

Selected projects may receive one of the following awards:
1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, City Staff Award, and People’s Choice Award.
